A mix of wintry weather expected to move in tonight could bring up to an inch of snow in higher elevations.
The National Weather Service is calling for the chance of a wintry mix across North Georgia as temperatures drop into the low 30s.
With a chance of rain before midnight that could change to freezing rain or snow, emergency officials are warning of potential hazardous weather through Friday.
"There's a chance of rain before midnight, which could change to freezing rain or snow, then all snow by Wednesday morning," Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford said.
Little accumulation is expected in most areas, but up to an inch of snow is possible in higher elevation of the Northeast Georgia mountains, including areas in northwest Dawson County.
Radar also shows a second round of wintry mix as possible by Friday morning.
