T-Bone wreck at Duck Thurmond injures two

A wreck the morning of June 29 at Duck Thurmond Road and Hwy. 53 injured two and sent one to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The wreck occurred at 9:55 a.m. According to Corporal Jody Caldwell with the Georgia State Patrol, a 2000 Toyota Corolla driven by Kristin Green, 17, of Dawsonville, was stopped at the stop sign of Duck Thurmond Road and Hwy. 53. A 2004 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Adam Smith, 49, of Canton, was traveling west on Hwy. 53 when Green failed to yield to the Tacoma.

The First Baptist Church of Dawsonville hosted its Vacation Bible School kick-off event on Sunday, June 5, complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, bluegrass music and a stunt show featuring a motorcycle and BMX bikes.
