Two subjects were arrested this afternoon after a standoff with police at a residence off Sams Road in Dawsonville.

According to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson, officers responded to a reported child abuse case at the home around 10:30 a.m.

Forsyth County SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams  and Georgia State Patrol were later called to assist after subjects barricaded themselves inside the residence.

There were at least two subjects involved as well as a female juvenile inside the home, according to Johnson. One of the subjects was reportedly in possession of a gun.

Johnson said that the subjects had arrest warrants out of Washington State.

The situation was resolved without injury to any involved party, Johnson said.

The road was closed for a time and reopened around 5 p.m.

Information on the two subjects taken into custody has not been released at this time.
