The Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its State of the State Legislative Breakfast to assist local businesses and citizens in communicating their concerns and discussing issues from the legislative delegation.

The breakfast, formerly known as the Eggs & Issues Breakfast, will be from 7 to 9 a.m. May 1 at the University of North Georgia Dining Hall Banquet Room.

The State of the State Legislative Breakfast will feature Senator Steve Gooch and Representative Kevin Tanner, R-Dawsonville.

Senator Gooch serves as Majority Whip of the Senate Majority Caucus and represents the 51st Senate District which includes Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Union and White counties and portions of Forsyth and Pickens counties.

Representative Tanner covers District 9, which includes Lumpkin County and parts of Dawson and Forsyth counties.

The breakfast allows local legislators to hear what citizens in the community think about issues as well as provides attendees with a better understanding of their legislators’ positions on important issues.

The 2019 State of the State Legislative Breakfast is presented by Northeast Georgia Health System and sponsored by SunTrust and the University of North Georgia.

The event is open to the public and is $20 for members of the Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce and $25 for nonmembers. Tickets include a full buffet breakfast.

Registration is required (online only) and seating is limited.
