A portion of Kelly Bridge Road in southwestern Dawson County will be closed for repairs beginning May 16.

The road will be closed to through traffic from Cowart Road to the Etowah River Bridge for road construction that should last about five days.

Local traffic may proceed with caution.

Dawson County Manager Kevin Tanner said the road is in “desperate need of repair.”

County work crews will be on scene next week to prepare the asphalt to be resurfaced by Georgia Department of Transportation crews later this summer.
