Earlier this month the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild drew a winner for its annual quilt raffle to benefit The Bowen Center for the Arts.

A raffle quilt is prepared and donated every year in their effort to help the Bowen support programs for children and the arts throughout the year.

More than 45 members participated in the queen size quilt "Autumn Mountains" raffle through planning, sewing and promotion. This stunner was last year's Viewer's Choice.

This year's winner is Dawsonville resident Charles McCormack, who said he was quite excited to hear that his $5 investment earned him winner status.

"We hope Charles will enjoy the quilt for many years to come," said Jacquelyn Somerville, president of the quilt guild. "Thank you for those who sold raffle tickets and the supporters of our amazing Art Center."

The Bowen also wishes to thank all those skilled hands who participated in the making of the quilt and to those who contributed to the raffle in their support of the center.
