Qualifying wraps up with no suprises
Board of Elections
Dawson County Board of Elections and Voter Registration.

District 1 Commissioner Sharon Fausett and at-large Board of Education member Will Wade will each see another term of office after they were the only people to qualify for their respective positions. 

Qualifying for the May 22 primary election wrapped up at noon today.

Running for the District 3 Commission seat are Tim Satterfield and Scott Allen.

Running for the District 3 Board of Education seat are incumbent Karen Armstrong and newcomer Joe Stapp. 

In statewide offices,  incumbent District 9 State Rep. Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville) qualified to run as did north Forsyth resident Mark Hajduk.

State Sen. Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega) was the only person to qualify for the position he currently holds. 

Advance voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30 through May 18, with Saturday voting held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 12.
