Deputies and detectives are still investigating a reported armed robbery at the Happy Food Mart located on Dawson Forest Road, according to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson.

Johnson said the report was received at approximately 7 p.m. Dec. 12.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 foot 9, wearing a red hat, black jacket and blue jeans, Johnson said in an email. The suspect is reported to have been armed with a handgun.

No other information about the suspect is available at this time.

Johnson said Wednesday that officials had received information that "possibly an older model white Toyota passenger car left the area at a high rate of speed."

He also said that the amount of money reportedly stolen in the incident is undisclosed at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the report is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (706) 344-3636.
