Package found in lot deemed safe

Authorities investigating a suspicious package reported in the parking lot of Walmart in Dawsonville last week found no threat to the public. "Everything is good. The GBI looked at it and determined that it was safe," said Dawson County Sheriff Billy Carlisle.

The First Baptist Church of Dawsonville hosted its Vacation Bible School kick-off event on Sunday, June 5, complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, bluegrass music and a stunt show featuring a motorcycle and BMX bikes.
