Dawson County will be all aglow with racers dashing through downtown sporting glow sticks at the “Get Your Glow On” 5K event this Friday night.

Organized by the Dawson County Schools’ Wellness Program, the race is meant to promote student health awareness. Participation is free for Dawson County students, teachers and staff.

The registration fee for those not in the school system is $25 and will go towards covering the cost of the event.

Awards will be given at the end of the race: Top overall male and female participant and top masters overall male and female participant, as well as the top three in each of the 5K age groups (10 and under up the 75 and over).

The race will begin at 8 p.m. March 23 at the Dawson County Board of Education located at 28 Main Street. Check in opens at 7 p.m.
