Middle school teacher seeks medical attention after incident with students

Dawson County Schools Superintendent Damon Gibbs has confirmed a recent incident that occurred between two students and a teacher at Dawson County Middle School that left the teacher seeking medical attention.


Gibbs said that the situation is under investigation at this time and will be dealt with in accordance with the school system code of conduct and discipline procedures.


Sheriff Jeff Johnson said recently that no police reports or charges have been filed in relation to the incident as it is being handled internally by the school system.


The teacher returned to school the following morning.


The name and current condition of the teacher has not been released.


Gibbs said more information may be available on Friday.
