Lunches available during summer months

The Dawson County School Nutrition Summer Feeding Program is under way for the months of June and July.

Free meals for kids under the age of 18 began on June 1.

The meals are served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at multiple locations across the county.

Meals will be served each week day throughout the months of June and July with the exception of July 4. Dawson County Middle School and Rock Creek Park will participate for the entire program. The remaining locations will operate on a rotating basis.

The other locations and dates are as follows: Dawson County High School, May 31-July 26; Riverview Elementary School, June 6-17; Dawson County Library, June 15-July 27 (only on Wednesdays); Riverview Middle School, June 20-24; Kilough Elementary School, June 20-24; Lumpkin Campground, June 20-24.

There is no paperwork necessary to participate. Adults may also eat lunch for $3.75.
