GOP to hold mass meetings

The Dawson County Republican Party will convene Precinct Mass Meetings to elect delegates and alternate delegates to the Dawson County Republican Party Convention Saturday morning.

Precinct meetings begin at 9 a.m. and will be followed by the county convention at 10 a.m. to elect delegates for the district and state convention.

Both the mass precinct meetings and the county convention will be held at the Bowen Center for the Arts, at 334 Highway 9 North in Dawsonville.

All Dawson County residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged to participate in this process.

The Ninth Congressional District Convention will convene on 10 a.m. April 14 at the Jefferson Civic Center, located at 66 Kissam Street in Jefferson.

The purpose of the district convention is to elect delegates and alternate delegates to the 2012 Republican National Convention to be held the week of Aug. 27 in Tampa, Fla.

Registration and participation at the Precinct Mass Meeting, County Convention, District Convention or State Convention is not allowed after the event's designated start time.

The Georgia Republican Party State Convention will convene May 18 in Columbus to elect delegates and alternate delegates to the 2012 Republican National Convention.
