The Dawson County Humane Society is holding its ninth annual charity golf tournament next week, and staff members are asking anybody with a love for animals to come out for a day on the greens.

“It’s really great,” said Debra Maxwell with the Dawson County Humane Society. “Lots of fun. Lots of good people.”

The DogLeg Charity Golf Tournament kicks off at 11:30 a.m. May 23. Players will eat lunch then hear tournament instructions.

“Putting for Puppies” begins at noon, and the shotgun start is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Awards dinner and raffle will follow the tournament.

Four member amateur teams, four-man scramble and prizes will be awarded to each golfer in the top two net teams and top two gross teams.

Cost is $110 for individual golfers, which includes golf, lunch, gift package and awards dinner.

Individual sponsorships are $125; Gold Company Sponsorships are $930, which consist of two golf teams of eight players, two hole sponsorships; and Silver Company Sponsorships are $490, which consist of one golf team of four players, one hole sponsor.
