If you have old electronics cluttering up your house, Saturday is the perfect day to recycle.

Keep Dawson County Beautiful in partnership with Premier Surplus, Inc. will be hosting Electronics Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at the Walmart Shopping Center.

Electronic Recycling Day is an opportunity to bring electronics to be recycled in an effective and safe manner. Electronics are made with materials like steel, glass, plastic and precious metals that can be reused.

Acceptable electronics are: cables, CD-Roms, circuit boards, computer cables, computer parts, copiers, fax machines, keyboards, laptops, modems, mouse, network equipment, PC monitors, PC power supplies, printers, projectors, scanners, test equipment, personal computers, home telephones, microwaves, camcorders, cameras, CB radios, cell phones, radios, record players, stereos and CD players.

No car or household batteries will be accepted.

Floppy disks and hard drives are securely destroyed and shredded at the warehouse.

Most items are free to recycle with the exception of a $25 fee for all televisions; $40 for projection TVs; $10 for CRT monitors; and $5 for LCD monitors with broken screens.

The Walmart Shopping Center is located at 156 Power Center Drive in Dawsonville.
