Due to overwhelming popularity Dawson County Parks and Recreation is proud to announce additional sessions of Adult Water Aerobics.

Adult Water Aerobics will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 - 11 a.m. The first session got underway June 24.

Cost will be $60 per person, per session. The next session will begin Aug. 25. The next session will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. Registration for the upcoming session will end July 28.

"Aquatic fitness classes offer a safe, comfortable and efficient way for people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels to get and stay fit," states Water Aerobics Instructor Tonya Jones. "Best of all, you burn about 700 calories or more in just a one hour swim class."

No swimming skills are needed for water aerobics. According to Jones, this activity works nearly every muscle group in one workout while building lean tissue and burning body fat. "Water aerobics also allows individuals to participate who might otherwise be physically unable to enjoy a traditional exercise environment," Jones says.

Adult swim continues at Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer from 6 - 8 p.m.  Admission to the pool is $1 daily.
