According to a press release from the Rotary Club of Dawson County, local resident Mike Berg was recently elected as Rotary District 6910 Governor.
District 6910, according to the release, includes all the area in Georgia north of I-10, including 71 Rotary individual clubs and more than 3,200 members and other participants.
Berg, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of Georgia State University, a retired manager with Georgia Power and currently serves at the principal for Mike Berg and Associates, a government and business strategic planning company.
Between 2005 and 2017 Berg served as Dawson County Board of Commissioners Chairman and previously served as a Gwinnett County Commissioner in the late 1980s.
In addition to his prior local government positions, Berg also serves as Vice President of the Lake Lanier Association, a board member of the Coosa North Georgia State Water Planning Commission and member of the Civic Foundation for the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia.
The release states that Berg has been a Rotarian for the last 38 years, and in that time has been awarded a number of different honors, including a Paul Harris Fellow, a Will Watt Fellow, a member of the Bequest Society and a Paul Harris Society member.
