Cooling assistance available from Ninth District Opportunity

According to a press release from Ninth District Opportunity, cooling assistance funding is now available for North Georgia residents due to the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. 

The release states that assistance is available for households in Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Dawson, Elbert, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White Counties that have not had heating or cooling assistance since November 2019. 

Households can apply for the assistance beginning on July 1, 2020, the release states. 

All eligible applicants are asked to contact Ninth District Opportunity after July 1, 2020, by calling 888-636-3125 or by visiting www.ndo.org/eap. 

Appointments will be scheduled until all funds are exhausted, the release states.
