Freezing rain predicted Sunday night into Monday

Frigid temperatures in north Georgia aren't showing any signs of letting up as forecasters are predicting freezing rain in Dawson County beginning Sunday night into Monday.

The National Weather Service has forecast a 60 percent chance of rain or freezing rain Monday after 1 a.m. and continuing into rain later in the day. Freezing rain could impact travel conditions, so check the condition of roads before departing Monday morning.

Conditions should improve by 11 a.m. Monday.

If you have planned outdoor activities this weekend, wear a hat and gloves as temperatures will remain in the teens at night and mid to upper thirties during the day.

Follow the National Weather Service for the most up to date forecast: http://www.weather.gov/ffc/ and follow the Dawson County Board of Education on Facebook for notifications of impacted school activities.
