Christmas program planned at First Baptist Church

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, and for the past 14 years, First Baptist Dawsonville has presented its annual Christmas Program to the community free of charge.

This year the theme is "He Came All This Way," as Jesus comes from heaven to be born on this earth in the little town of Bethlehem.

It's a story of the humble beginnings of Christ as Savior to the people of this world.

Every year, hundreds of people attend the performances to witness the beauty and the majesty of the Christmas season, along with the beautiful songs from the chorus, the live nativity and all the animals that walk down the aisles, completing the story of the Savior from Bethlehem.

The sanctuary of First Baptist has been transformed into a story-book setting, complete with fresh greeneries and scenes from some 2,000 years ago.

It was a time when Mary and Joseph traveled back to the little town of Bethlehem to pay their taxes.

Upon arrival, Mary was expecting her baby child, but there was no room for her to stay. The stable provides comfort and rest for a miracle baby to be born. Jesus would grow up and eventually change the world.

"He Came All This Way" will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3, with final performance will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 4.

Childcare is available for the smallest children, but most kids will want to see the animals and children singing.
