Gabby Buchan was recently crowned Miss Dawson County.

"I was shocked and very grateful. A lot of my close friends were in the pageant with me and so I was shocked that I had been able to go against my best friends and win as a freshman. It was a great feeling," she said.

A freshman at Dawson County High School, she is the 14-year-old daughter of Robert and Tiffany Buchan.

Competing in pageants for the last two years, the beauty queen also holds Miss K.A.R.E for Kids, Miss Pickens County, Miss Tropical Beauty, Miss Winter Wonderland, Miss 4th of July and Miss Spooktacular titles.

"My first pageant was the Miss K.A.R.E. for Kids pageant. Ever since then, I've been going non-stop," she said.

She was also first runner up in Miss Junior Teen Georgia, National America Miss and has been named Georgia's Top Model.

The teen is currently pursuing a modeling and acting career, with hopes of one day competing for the title of Miss Georgia.

"I just want to take the confidence I get from these pageants and apply that in my life," she said.
