Bridge work on Hwy. 9 moved to Monday
GDOT alert

A recent press release from the Georgia Department of Transportation states that traffic pacing that was planned Friday for traffic over the Hwy. 9 bridge over the Etowah River has been rescheduled to Monday, March 12.

The pacing will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. for the placement of concrete bridge beams for the new bridge, according to the release.

Law enforcement will lead traffic to allow the beams for the new bridge to be set in place.

The work is subject to weather conditions, and electronic message boards have been updated to reflect the upcoming work.

Drivers need to drive alert and expect delays between Bannister Road and Dawson Forest Road, the release states.
