Back to school immunizations and screenings available from Dawson County Health Department

Before the school year kicks back into gear across the state of Georga, the District 2 Department of Public Health will host three weeks of immunizations and screenings to get local students ready for school. 

According to a Dawson County Department of Health spokesperson, these immunizations and screenings are those required by local school systems and not related to COVID-19. 

The District 2 Public Health press release, clinics will be held in Dawson, Habersham, Union and White Counties, July 13-17th; in Hall, Franklin, Lumpkin, Rabun and Towns Counties, July 20-24th; and Banks, Forsyth, Hart and Stephens Counties, July 27-31st. 

Clinics will be held Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

According to the release, interested parents should call their local health department to schedule an appointment for their student.

The Dawson County Health Department can be contacted at (706) 265-2611 and is located at 54 Hwy. 53 East in Dawsonville. 

The District 2 Department of Public Health is also offering free COVID-19 testing during the weeks of July 12, July 19 and July 26 in Forsyth, Lumpkin, Hall, Franklin, Habersham and Towns Counties. For more information call your local health department office.
