Thankful for many things

During this season of thanksgiving, Ben and I reflect on many blessings we have had.

Certainly one of the greatest of these is having shared the life of a devoted and loving husband and father, Charles Finley.

His was a life well lived, dedicated to his Lord and Savior, to his family and to his community.

We miss him terribly, and we know the community he loved does as well. We cherish the memories we have of him, and we know that one day we will see him again.

Living in a loving and caring community is another blessing for which we are thankful.

The outpouring of love we have experienced continues to overwhelm us.

Every act of kindness and the many prayers that have been prayed have been so much appreciated.

We are thankful for those who serve faithfully every day to come to the aid of those who are in need - emergency responders on land and in air, law enforcement personnel, doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

We are thankful for those who minister as pastors, as singers, as church family and as coordinators of memorial services.

We are thankful for loving family, friends and kin who extend helping hands to meet day-to-day needs.

Most of all, we are thankful to God who has given each blessing to us and who gives us strength and comfort when our hearts are breaking. We are thankful that His promises are true and faithful and that He will never leave us.

We are so thankful for salvation and eternal life, which are promised to those who believe in Jesus for He said in John 11:25-26: "I am the resurrection, and the life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die..."

May God bless you all,

Kathy and Ben Finley
