Head Coach Jeff Lee and his staff recently finished the first week of spring practice for upcoming ninth graders last week. Between 25-35 students participated in practice in preparation for the transition to high school football.

“We are really pleased with what these kids are doing,” Lee said. “It gives our coaching staff a chance to get to see these guys before we start our summer workouts.”

The players are working on fundamentals and the Tiger offensive and defensive schemes during the 9-day practice.

Spring practice for the upcoming freshmen will finish Thursday.

Next week the varsity will begin their spring practices for two weeks.

“We didn’t get a full week because of the storm so we got a day behind. Overall I’m pleased with their effort. We are being real basic with them and teaching them the game. There are a real good core of linemen that are big and can move. This group, if they stay with it, has a chance to be very good,” Lee said.
