The Dawson County High School varsity soccer teams kicked off their seasons with a scrimmage against North Forsyth High School Friday night.

Both girls and boys played at North Forsyth where the girls finished their game with a 0-0 draw, while the boys were able to come out on top 3-0.

Forward Dennis Pyetsukh was on form for the men's varsity team as he finished the night with all three goals, securing a win for the team.

The Tigers were able to get off to hot start with Pyetsukh scoring all three of his goals in the first half of the game.

From that point on it was a strong performance from the team as a whole led by captains Alan Sanchez, Ty Anglin and Timothy Moody.

The Georgia Class AAA rankings were released earlier this week and had the men's team ranked at sixth with the girls ranked at number 3.

The two teams were set to face off against Blessed Trinity on Feb 9, but the games were postponed due to the threat of winter weather.

The teams will travel to Walnut Grove on Friday.
