Wood and Kinsey lead Racers at Habersham County

Matthew Wood led the Dawsonville Racers swim team on June 13 at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Habersham County.

Wood took first place in four events at the meet.

He competed in the 14 and under boys division and touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard intermediate, 50-yard backstroke, and the 50-yard butterfly.

Also on the boys side, 8 and under swimmer Elliot Kinsey placed well in the 25-yard free (fourth place), 25-yard backstroke (fourth place), and the 25-yard butterfly (second place).

Aidan Kudlas, in the 12 and under division, had an excellent meet with a first place in the 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard intermediate (second place), 50-yard freestyle (third place), and 50-yard backstroke (seventh place).

The Dawsonville boys team finished in ninth place overall with 221 points.

Wood picked up 80 of those points at the meet.

On the girl's side, Dawsonville was led by Isabelle Kinsey.

Kinsey picked up a first place in the 25-yard backstroke, third place in the 25-yard butterfly, second place
in the 25-yard freestyle, and a third place in the 100-yard intermediate.
