Lady Eagles team loses two

It was a tough week for the Riverview Middle School Lady Eagle softball team.

The Lady Eagles lost both games they played last week. On Sept. 11, the team fell to Fannin County 7-4, then on Friday, the team lost to Jasper Middle 12-0.

Both were home games.

"We have played both teams very close in the first few innings," said head coach Jeff Compton. "We have had a difficult time putting the ball in play on offense."

This week Riverview will travel to Dawson County Middle on Friday. First pitch should be around 4:30 p.m.

"The scores do not do Riverview justice. We have played each team very well. Ashton Bruce [pitcher] and Taylor Day [catcher] have done very well. All players have been doing much better. We are working hard in getting ready for the end of season tournament," Compton said.

The Mountain League end of season tournament will be played at Roper Park in Jasper on Sept. 28-29.
