Colton and Kincaid Schuette went 3-0 against Chestatee High School and Commerce High School during their home match on Tuesday, Jan. 5.

Both brothers pinned their Chestatee High School opponent in the first round. Colton also pinned his Commerce opponent in the first round, the only Tiger to win an individual match against the reigning single-A GHSA wrestling state champions.

Kincaid did not wrestle against Commerce. He previously sustained an injury during a tournament at Gilmer High School and rested for area duels coming up.

As a team, Dawson County lost both of their matches Tuesday night. The Tiger had to forfeit two weight class matches to Chestatee High School and only lost 42-36, just one pin away from tying the match. Logan Buytendorp and Scotty Warner also pinned both of their Chestatee opponents.

The Tigers host the Amicalola Duels this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. This will be the team’s last match before the Area Duels tournament on Friday, Jan. 15.
