The Dawson County High School Tiger wrestling team got off to a great start this season with a thrashing of host Osborne last Friday by a score of 63-18.

Head Coach Arron Haynes was impressed with the effort that his team gave during their first match of the season.

Osborne had several holes in its line-up and the Tigers took advantage of each one.

“They were inexperienced and our guys just took control,” said Haynes. “They wrestled three girls and had a tough time getting those 18 points they scored.”

Captains on this year’s team will be Joe Perry and Justin Martin. Clay Reece will be the Honorary Captain.

The Tigers were back in action yesterday against Gilmer County and Creekview. Scores were not available at press time.
