Tiger wrestler Gavin Brown is perfect on the season with a 21-0 record for Coach Arron Haynes' team. Brown is dominating the 182-pound weight class so far.

Brown's team is currently 13-4 in dual matches on the year.

On Friday the team competed in The Melee in the Mountains tournament in Towns County.

Dawson County finished the tournament 5-0 with wins over Hiwassee Dam, 72-6, Rabun County, 66-12, Union County, 72-6, Hayesville, N.C., 55-12, and Towns County, 64-18.

On Dec. 4, the Tigers played host to West Hall and South Forsyth. Dawson County was victorious, defeating the Spartans, 54-30, and the Class AAAAAA South Forsyth team, 58-17.

Pinning their opponents against West Hall were: Anthony Underwood (113 pounds), Harrison Adams (126 pounds), Cory Jenkins (132 pounds), Coty Greer (138 pounds), Levi Pressley (145 pounds), Evan Kells (170 pounds) and Gavin Brown (182 pounds).

Getting forfeits and valuable team points were Justin Evans (106 pounds) and Keaton Toal (195 pounds).

Against South Forsyth: Underwood, Jenkins, Pressley, Gilbert Pruitt (152 pounds), Zach Guy (160 pounds), Brown, Toal and Colton Chester (220 pounds) each pinned their opponents.

Justin Evans won his match in a 10-3 decision, Harrison Adams won, 12-2, and Evan Kells defeated his opponent, in a very exciting match, 4-2.

Seniors Jenkins and Kells were named co-captains of this year's team.
