Madalyn Walters continued her winning ways with a first place finish at the Clash of Titans cross country meet at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell on Saturday.

Walters covered the course in a time of 20:24.15 to easily defeat second place finisher Bailey Willett of Blessed Trinity, 20:43.46, and third place runner Olivia Pigg of North Oconee, 20:58.72.

The event was the second weekend in a row that Walters has captured a title. The talented senior won at East Jackson High School after easily outdistancing her fellow runners, Sept. 17.

The 5K course at Blessed Trinity was run primarily through woods. The course was very challenging with many gradual inclines and declines, according to coaches.

The Lady Tigers, as a team, finished sixth overall out of 10 teams. Blessed Trinity took the team title, followed by Pope High School. Dawson rival North Oconee finished in fourth place.

As a team the Tigers captured fifth place.

Winning the individual title was Justin Howell of Pope High School with a time of 17:35.21.

Runner-up in the very close race was Will Murray of Blessed Trinity with a time of 17:35.49.
