The Dawson County High School Tiger football program participated in the Hickory Flat seven on seven tournament hosted by Sequoyah High School recently.

Tiger Head Coach Jeff Lee carried two teams to the event, a varsity and ninth grade team.

The ninth grade team finished in fourth place.

On the varsity side Dawson County started out really slow, losing the first game. The Tigers rebounded to win the next six games and advance to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, the Tigers lost a close battle 26-23.

"It was a very big day for both teams," Lee said. "Junior quarterback, Zack Buchan, had a big day in his first chance as the signal caller for the Tigers."

Lee also praised the play of Tigers, Keaton Toal, Logan Hayes, Kyle Hayes, Zach Guy, Jackson Putnam and Dalton Edwards.

The Tigers had a successful month of June.

After last week's break for "dead week," the Tigers really turn up the action as the season draws closer.

The Tigers will make their annual trek to Clinton, S.C., to participate in the Presbyterian College Passing this week.
