Two to compete at state event

Two Dawson County Lady Tigers will compete in the 2013 GHSA Girls State Meet at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany Thursday through Saturday.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Katelynn Simpson, will represent Dawson County.

Simpson's best time in the event is 50.29. Simpson holds the school record.

Hayden Wilson will also participate in the state meet.

Wilson's event will be the shot put. Her best throw this season was 106'2."

The Lady Tigers picked up a third place finish at the sectionals May 4.

At the boys state track meet last week at Jefferson High School, Tiger Corey Jenkins cleared a height of 11'00" for a 15th place finish.

Winning the event was David Curry from Buford High School with a jump of 14'00."
