Track teams cross finish line

The boys and girls track teams finished the regular season last week in a tri-meet held at Johnson High School in Gainesville.


Rush Davenport led the boy’s team in a victory over both Johnson and East Jackson high schools. Davenport tied the school record in the 800-meters and broke a long standing record in the 100-meters.


The Lady Tigers were also victorious with wins over East Jackson and Johnson. The girl’s team completed the season with an 11-2 record.


The boy’s team finished the season 12-1.


The Region 8-AA meet for the boys will be held beginning this Thursday at Jefferson High School. The meet will continue through April 25.


On the girls’ side, the Region 8-AA meet will be held the following weekend at East Jackson High School. The girls will open on April 29 and finish on May 2.
