The Dawson County High School boys' basketball team competed in a summer camp at Commerce and Jackson County last week.

The Tigers were victorious in wins over Jackson County, Habersham Central, Chestatee and Commerce before losing to Winder-Barrow and Hebron Christian.

"I think it was important to go 4-2 and have some success in winning. It will give our guys some confidence. With so very little experience on our team, anytime we have a chance to play or practice, we get more comfortable with each other," said Head Coach Thad Burgess.

The Tigers have just one senior on the team.

"It is a learning curve for us right now. We still have difficulty trying to think and compete at the same time. After playing six games and seeing things we need to work on, it will give us some teaching points in practice over the next few days," he said.

Up next for Burgess and his squad is a team camp at the University of North Georgia later this week.

Early next week, the team will take part in a team camp at Birmingham-Southern in Alabama.
