Dawson County High School Head Boys Basketball Coach Thad Burgess was very pleased with team camp at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama. The Tigers finished the camp with a 3-1 record.
"We were short-handed but I was happy with the way we played," Burgess said. "I felt like our kids really competed at the camp."
A perfect example of the team work occurred in a game against Mortimer Jordan High School from Alabama, according to Burgess.
In the last game of the camp, Dawson County was down 10 points in the fourth quarter before going on a 17-0 run to win the game.
"I really left with a good feeling after this game. It was a great comeback by our kids. Our boys are seeing how effort and competing will win you games even versus better and more talented players. The bunch of players that came with us are playing very hard," Burgess said.
Dawson County played in its final team camp at the University of Auburn last weekend.
