Summer basketball is in full swing for the Dawson County boys' program.

Head Coach Thad Burgess will try to replace a very successful group of seniors.

Burgess lost Tyler Dominy, Will Anglin, Gunnar Armstrong and Camron Chester to graduation from last year's 21-8 team.

The Tigers were defeated in the first round of the Class AAA state playoffs against Woodward Academy, 51-39.

Burgess has scheduled several events this summer, which include team camps at Jefferson High School, Banks County High School and East Jackson this week.

This weekend they will play at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, followed by camps at Berry College, Pickens County and the University of Georgia.

Hoping to lead this year's team will be rising seniors Lucas Pain, Jonathan Sanderson, Jackson Putnam, Terrell Dawson and Steven Stanfill.

"We have to replace a great group of seniors from last year," Burgess said. "These guys will play several games this summer at numerous places against all levels of competition."
