The Class AAA, No. 1 ranked Tigers men's soccer team picked up an easy 6-1 victory at home against Forsyth Central March 3.

On March 6 the team traveled to Cartersville for a battle with the Purple Hurricanes, which ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Cartersville game was hotly contested.

The Tigers had several questionable calls go against them, one of those calls cost Coach Jed Lacey's team a goal.

The referee called an offside that did not appear to be and possibly cost Dawson County the game.

This weekend the Tigers will travel to Jekyll Island for their annual trip to play in the Tournament of Champions.

Dawson County will play The Walker School (3-1-1) tomorrow at 5:10 p.m., Wheeler on Friday at 6:50 p.m., and finish with Creekview at 12:20 p.m.

The boy's team currently posts a 4-0-1 record.

The Lady Tigers also had a busy week.

Dawson County picked up a tight 1-0 win over Forsyth Central before losing to Cartersville by a 2-0 margin.

Lacey's girls will also travel to Jekyll Island this weekend for games against The Walker School (3-0) tomorrow at 3:30 p.m., Wheeler on Friday at 5:10 p.m., and finish the weekend with a game against Creekview on Saturday at 10:40 a.m.

The Lady Tigers have a 3-2 overall record and are ranked No. 4 in the state.

"We love going to Jekyll to play some of the best teams in the state," Lacey said. "It gives us a chance to see some different styles of play. It also gives our players a chance to get away and we are able to come together as a group."
