The Dawson County High School boy's golf team shot a team score of 352 to finish in fourth place at the Region 7-AAA golf tournament last week. The Tigers missed the sectional qualifying score by two strokes.

"The team can still qualify for sectionals if the state does not have enough teams to shoot a qualifying score. We are in a waiting mode now. I know how it feels when your team is on the bubble," said Head Coach Wes Greer.

Tiger Hunter Burt did qualify individually for the sectionals. The sectionals will be held on May 5. Burt shot an 18-hole total of 83 to get into the tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for Dawson County were: Jake Phillips-85, David Ford-88, John Pulley-104, Justin Moore-107 and Jeffery Partain-96.

Buford took first place with a team score of 323.

Taking second place was North Hall with a 343.

Coming in third place was White County with a 345.

Taylor Mitchell from Buford was the low medalist with a score of 76.
