The Dawson County High School baseball team has qualified for the Class AAA state playoffs as the No. 4 seed from Region 7-AAA.

Winning the region baseball title was North Hall followed by Buford and White County.

Head Coach Jimmy Pruett's team will have its hands full taking on Blessed Trinity, the No. 1 seed from Region 6-AAA. The Titans come into the game with an impressive 22-4 record.

The Tigers have stumbled as of late. The team lost nine of its last 11 games to post a final record of 13-13.

On the other hand, Coach Andy Harlin and his Titans have won seven straight games. During that streak Blessed Trinity has allowed only four runs. The only two losses in April were to teams out of Florida, Sarasota and Venice.

Last season the Titans advanced to the Final Four before losing to Appling County. Appling went on to capture the Class AAA state championship.

Dawson County will travel to Roswell to face the Titans in a double header on Friday.

The first game will start at 4:30 p.m. with the second game set to start at 7 p.m. If the Tigers can earn a split, the teams will finish the series on Saturday afternoon in Roswell at 1 p.m.
