Team defeats Habersham

The Dawson County High School varsity baseball team defeated visiting Habersham Central 3-0 last week.

Jeffrey Partington started on the mound and pitched five great innings during the March 8 game.

Partington recorded four strikeouts and allowed only one hit.

Logan Burt came on in relief and recorded six outs, all by strikeout, to close out the game.

Tiger Levi Whitmire had a great night at the plate. He tallied three hits, including two doubles.

David Chester scored the first run of the game after reaching on a two out double in the third inning.

Whitmire then singled to right field to score Chester with two outs to give Dawson a 2-0 lead that the team would not relinquish.

Dawson will travel to Blairsville on Thursday for a Region 8-AA doubleheader against Union County. First pitch will be at 5 p.m.
