The Dawson County High School track team came off Spring Break April 8 and picked up huge wins over Lumpkin, Union and Fannin counties at home in Tigers Stadium.

The Lady Tigers amassed 97 team points to defeat Lumpkin, 80, Union, 26, and Fannin, 22.

Winning events for the girls' team were: Savannah Haberkam in the shot put and discus, Katelynn Simpson in the 100-meter high hurdles and 300-meter low hurdles, and Camryn Geiger in the 200-meters. The 4x400 team of Caroline Lee, Ansley Costley, Bailey Cotter and Katelynn Simpson also won their event.

On the boys' side, Dawson County scored 119 team points to easily defeat Fannin, 58, Lumpkin, 56 and Union, 14.

Individual winners for the Tigers were: Ryan Jones in the discus, Josh Woody in the pole vault, Dylan Forester in the 3,200-meters and 1,600-meters, Rhys Adams in the 400-meter, Eric Leonard in the 110-meter high hurdles, Brian Colin in the 800-meters, Dalton Edwards in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay team of Brian Colin, Rhys Adams, Ben Drew and Mason Carr.

Up next for Coach Arron Haynes' and his track teams will be the Region 7-AAA meet beginning today at Tigers Stadium.

Taking part in this year's region event will be Banks County, Buford, Dawson County, East Hall, Fannin County, North Hall, West Hall and White County.
