The War Hill Christian Academy volleyball team won the junior varsity state tournament after beating Victory Baptist School of Loganville, Georgia in the championship.

In a best of three match, War Hill won the third match to secure their victory. The tournament named Marissa Becker as the tournament Most Valuable Player.

Head coach Daniel Morris led his team to a bye in the first round of the tournament and then a semi-final sweep of Appling Christian Academy from Baxley, Georgia.

“I am very proud of this group of young ladies,” Morris said. “They played well all season. They gave 100% every game. It was a great privilege to coach this team as they worked their way to the 2020 GCAA JV championship.”

The team is made up of eight girls; Becker, Abby Gaskins, Grace Morris, Betsie Traylor, Emma Stephens, Selah Stewart, Sophie Stephens and Ava Robertson. Becker, Morris, Stewart and Robertson also play basketball for War Hill.
