After the Lady Tigers lost their lead in the top of the final inning of Tuesday’s game against the North Hall Trojans, Dawsonville athlete Reese Moore hit a walk-off double, driving in the two final runs to secure a victory for the Tigers.

The game was a tight battle between both teams throughout, remaining scoreless headed into the bottom of the third inning when Bella Henson sent the ball over the fence for her first home run of the year, giving the Lady Tigers the 1-0 lead. Henson went 3-3 at the plate for the entire game on Tuesday.

North Hall tied the game back up in the top of the fourth inning, but the Lady Tigers regained control at the bottom of the fifth when Henson came around to score on a ground ball.

Layne Bailey pitched the entire game for the Lady Tigers. The Trojans got their fourth hit of the game to lead off the final inning and would sacrifice bunt the runner to second base on the next at bat. Bailey struck out the next batter to put the Trojans down to their last out.

After a wild pitch, head coach Jimmy Pruett decided to intentionally walk the next batter to set up an out with the next batters. Bailey had a Trojan batter down to her last strike when a single drove in two runs, giving North Hall their first lead of the game.

Bailey got the final out and sent the Lady Tigers to the plate for a chance to win the game in the bottom of the seventh inning. During the game, Bailey only allowed one earned run in and struck out four batters.

Olivia Martinez lead off the bottom of the seventh inning with a double and Bailey scored a single after that.

After Annslee Kirby was struck out, Reese Moore sent a double over the center fielder’s head,  allowing both Martinez and Bailey to round the bases and score, winning the game for the Lady Tigers.

Tuesday’s win is the fourth victory for the Lady Tigers this season. They had two other games that finished in losses this week. They lost to Lumpkin County 8-2 on Monday night and lost to White County 12-2 on Wednesday night.

Henson leads the team after hitting another home run on Wednesday night with two balls sent over the fence. Martinez has 17 hits and both Martinez and Henson are tied with 13 runs scored this season.
