Dawson county High School girls’ soccer team (1-9-1) fell to Lumpkin county (8-4) in a cloudy Tuesday night showdown 6-0.

Despite attempts by Lady Tiger’s midfielders to get the ball downfield, the Indians defense proved to be relentless. Dawson’s goalies managed to soften the blow with saves throughout the game to hold the Indians to six goals.

The loss comes after the Lady Tigers collected their first win of the season against West Hall on Friday, March 19, scoring three goals.

During the Tigers' time on the pitch, they were also defeated, falling 3-1 to the Lumpkin County Indians (2-8).

The Tiger defense played their part in fending off the Indians. Junior goalkeeper Gio Hernandez had three saves on the day.

Lumpkin scored two goals in the first half and one in the second. Dawson answered with a lone goal with 30 seconds left in the game on a free kick by senior defender Caleb Bonesteel.

Dawson (0-12) plays Habersham Central at Mt. Airy on Thursday during a non-region game.
