The Dawson County High School boys' Tigers track team hosted two meets last week.

The Tigers defeated Lumpkin County, 81.5-50.5, on March 10.

On March 12 the Tigers defeated Franklin County, 67-45.5, before losing, 69.5-67, to North Hall.

Coach Arron Haynes' team will compete at 9 a.m. in the Greater Atlanta Christian Invitational Saturday in Norcross.

In the March 10 meet the Tigers won 10 different events.

Taking first place were: Cole Smith - shot put (37'6"), Corey Hammond - high jump (5'2"), Ty Adams - long jump (17'5.5") and triple jump (36'0"), Ryhs Adams - pole vault (12'0"), Jacob Poston - 3,200 meters (10:51) and 1,600 meters (5:01), the 4x100 "A" team (47:11), Garrett Carlisle - 800 meters (2:15), 4x400 "A" team (3:54).

In Thursday's meet several Tigers won their events, including: Smith - shot put (39'10") and discus (112'0"), Poston - 3,200 meters (10:40), Adams - 400 meters (55.75), Ben Umberger - 800 meters (2:14), and the 4x400 relay team (3:49).

Taking second place: Adams-pole vault (11'0"), Chris Shelp - 3,200 meters (11:24), Poston - 1,600 meters (4:55), Rusty Chester - 400 meters (55.78) and 300 intermediate hurdles (51.24) and Hammond - 200 meters (24.28).
