Team must win Friday

With one game remaining the football playoff race in Region 8-AA is uncertain.

The only thing that is certain is that Rabun County is out of the post season.

The Wildcats are sporting a 1-7 record and are 0-4 in region play.

Fannin, Banks, Union, East Hall and Dawson still have a chance to get into a region playoff game. A lot will be determined this Friday night. Dawson will host Rabun, East Hall will travel to Banks County and Union will go to Fannin County.

There are several different things that could happen. Only Fannin and Banks can win the sub-region outright with a win.

East Hall, Union and Dawson must win in order to secure a play-off spot. If the Tigers defeat Rabun this Friday night they are in. The playoff position will be determined after scores are reported this week.

Dawson will be 3-2 in sub-region play with the win. If they tie with Fannin, the Tigers will finish second and most likely play Hart County.

If Fannin wins they finish second and will play Hart County, while Dawson will travel to either Elbert County or North Oconee.

Elbert and North Oconee play each other this week.

If Dawson loses a new scenario would come into play.

It’s what you want as a player and a coach. A week 9 game that has meaning.

What a way for the Tiger seniors to play a possible last game at Tigers Stadium.
