After winning their fourth region championship in a row, the Dawson County community rallied together to send the Dawson County High School cheerleading team off in style to the GHSA 3A cheerleading state championships in Macon, Ga.
Parents and volunteers gathered to make sure the girls bus was decorated in celebration and gathered a fire chief and sheriff escort to Ga. Hwy 400 for the team, taking a charter bus to Macon.

The team qualified for the state tournament after putting together a dominating performance at the combined region/sectional tournament at Buford High School on Saturday, Nov. 13. Not only did the team win the region championship, but scored 97 out of a possible 100 points, a near perfect score.
The competition will start late afternoon on Friday, Nov. 19.
