Dawson County Lady Tigers Softball pitcher Maggie Schandera formally committed to play softball at the next level as she signed her scholarship with Georgia Highlands College in Cartersville on Nov. 3. Schandera first pitched for the varsity team as a freshman and took over the starting role in her junior year. During her career she posted a 76 percent strike ratio over 416.4 innings (a total of 4,071 strikes) while recording 228 strike-outs to only 25 walks and was named the Dawson County News Player of the Week multiple times during her time as a Lady Tiger. She is the daughter of Lamar and Connie Schandera.
